Maybe He took it all away
to make space for all this beauty
If He had given them to me before,
where could I have kept them?
I am overwhelmed by the gifts today
There’s too much beauty and too much generosity
There is gentleness and kindness
More than I have ever imagined
There is friendship and faith
And the depths of these
Could not have reached the levels it does today
If the grief had not carved out the space for them
yesterday
