#RamadanRuminations Day 5: All Bases

There’s a sweetness in private conversation with God at 3am,
A peace in the heart reading the Quran and pondering on His Words,
A comfort in silent tears,
While you pour out your fears.

But what about the tender chaos in a communal iftar?
Or the synchronized bowing and kneeling with strangers?
Or the ripple in the unseen
as a crowd 500-strong say Ameen?

As above, so below,
Inward and the outward,
The roots and the branches
This deen covers all bases.
