#RamadanRuminations Day 7: Asking

My heart can’t contain this much love
I only have 2 hands to hug
1 of me to be present
But so many loved ones in need

A death, an illness, a financial calamity
A broken heart, a betrayal, a marriage fraying
A dream pursued, a dream abandoned
This is what keeps me praying!

Lord You are the Rich Beyond Need
And we are helpless and weak
Love us, fulfil us, forgive us, we plead!
Help us and grant us what we seek!

One of the most transformative experiences I’ve ever had was a homework that required us to sit and make doa for 15mins. It didn’t take long for me to realize just how automatic my doa-making had been all this while! Needless to say, by the end of it, I was a blubbering mess.

It’s amazing how powerful such a thing is — asking. How humility is required. How you can’t help but to acknowledge your neediness of Him. And unlike humans, He actually LOVES when we ask from Him!

These days, making doa for others has become a favourite pastime. I no longer feel overwhelmed at how much and how I can be there for friends and loved ones. There’s only so much I can do or places I can be at one time. But I can pray.

And He. He can do anything ❤️🤲🏽

PS: It was a homework by Anse Dr. Tamara Gray of Rabata. Who y’all should definitely follow and learn from!
