The True

Today I remind myself of the true:

True richness is in a forgiving and kind heart,
not material things,

True blessings are found in genuine friends, in family who love,
not perceived fame and flimsy, changing dunya “reputations”,

True happiness is in acknowledging the blessings in your life, not just today’s but all that had to happen to bring you to this point,
not temporary excitement,

True friendship is having hard conversations but being truthful anyways because you seek the best for the other,
not protecting their today-feelings at the expense of their growth tomorrow,

True peace is in the prayer, in litanies we utter, in spiritual teachers and guides, in unshaking belief that the Hereafter is the True, and will indeed be better and everlasting.
